About Us
Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting & Doggy Daycare is located in Old Town Chicago near Clybourn & Division. We are a 10-minute walk from the North & Clybourn Station Red Line, and a 12-minute walk from the Sedgwick Station Brown Line.
- All positions at Fire Hydrant Doggy Daycare are either contractor or part-time. No full-time positions exist. Positions are entry-level, with opportunities for growth!
- Woman and Black Owned & Operated Business
- Business Hours are Monday - Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays.
We specialize in various Pet Care needs such as Doggy Daycare, Enrichment, and Socialization. Fire Hydrant has a VERY close relationship with the pet parents. So you will not only need to be good with the dogs, but the humans too! EXCELLENT customer service a must. We are quite close with the pet parents and appreciate them greatly for using our services.
Shifts
We are a small daycare and the shifts we need are quite specific. Depending on performance, there is room to advance and get more shifts. We are hiring for the following shift:
- Monday 3:30pm - 7:00pm
- Wednesday 10:30am - 3:30pm
- Friday 3:30pm - 7:00pm
- Saturday 12:00pm to 4:00pm
Responsibilities
- Interact with the dogs and engage in play activities and exercise
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment. Deep clean the daycare (windows, floors, walls, etc)
- Supervise, engage, and manage the daycare dogs providing structure, respect, and fun
- Implement safety procedures and protocols
- Pick up after pets (Yes we are talking about their poop!)
- Taking pictures of the dogs
Must Have Skills
- EXCELLENT customer service skills to make pet parents feel welcome
- Ability to interact with the dogs in a CALM manner. They feed off your energy & will determine how the day will go. This is a place where personal matters must be left at the door, and before clocking in.
- Ability to lift 50 Ibs
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods
- Time management
- Problem Solving
- Comfortability with aggressive and strong breeds
- Being able to "speak dog" -- reading their body language
- Reliability
- Must be available year round (we do not hire seasonal help)

Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18-years old
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation
PRE-INTERVIEW / INTERVIEW PROCESS

Pay: $16.20 - $18.00 per hour
