What are the responsibilities and job description for the Help Desk Technician position at Fire Mountain Gems and Beads?
Position Summary:
The Help Desk Technician is primarily responsible for responding to end-user submitted tickets; triage and diagnose problems, troubleshoot solutions, and resolve issues.
Essential Functions:
Install, modify and troubleshoot computer hardware and software systems, including in-house and third-party applications (Microsoft, Adobe, Salesforce etc.)
Repair in-house desktop computers, laptops, printers, and related equipment
Configure and install PC software, hardware, and peripherals
Support audio/visual requirements in conference rooms and in General Meeting room
Evaluate and order new IT equipment
Provide technical assistance and training to system users
Provide assistance with installation of networking cable
Participate in IT projects as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:
Minimum two years of professional PC and/or Help Desk Technician experience
Good working knowledge of the Windows operating system and MS Office applications
Effective interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all staff and management of the organization
Thrive in a team environment; actively listen to others, contribute ideas, collaborate and agree on solutions and action plans
Prioritize multiple technical issues and tasks to reduce disruption to end users
Work with and implement new software, equipment (scanners, printers), and system policies
Experience with Macintosh operating system a plus
Experience with Salesforce SaaS a plus

Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, crawling, climbing, and lifting. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. to shoulder height. Ability to frequently move about within the department and between both buildings of the company, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment: Frequently a temperature controlled normal office environment. Occasionally a temperature-controlled warehouse environment in the range of 60 degrees to 80 degrees, and/or non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment in the range of 40 degrees to 90 degrees.
