What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Analyst II position at Firebird AST?
Firebird AST is seeking an onsite Program Analyst II with an active DoD Secret clearance to support the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) in Washington, D.C. The contract is pending; anticipated award is June 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Capture data and information related to criminal drug activity and OCDETF operational accomplishments, including but not limited to cases filed, defendants charged and convicted, trials and outcomes, sentences to imprisonment, monetary sanctions, and estimated reductions in illegal drug activity.
- Design input data collection forms to facilitate and standardize data collection, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Review and assess new software applications to improve efficiency and functionality of case tracking and reporting activities.
- Convert data for inclusion into databases, spreadsheets, and graphical presentation programs; design and produce output reports, summary tables, graphs, and charts.
- Conduct special studies, research, and evaluations to assess and inform managers on key findings.
- Design and produce PowerPoint and other graphics presentations for managerial use.
- Serve as a technical expert on federal, state, and local crime and caseload statistics, as well as criminal justice data and policy issues.
- Provide assistance to senior analysts on quantitative analysis and research methodologies regarding ongoing research studies, data analysis, and program evaluations.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify significant findings and trends using statistical or analytical software programs such as SAS, SPSS, Microsoft Access, and/or Excel.
REQUIRED
- 2 years of experience.
- Bachelors degree in any related field.
- Experience utilizing various types of software, such as government-developed software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience conducting research and analysis of data and reporting results.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
- Knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, reports, policy, legal documents, etc.
- Ability to prepare reports and presentations to company management and customer(s).
- Demonstrated leadership ability, strategic and innovative thinker, and passion for the mission.

- Excellent organization and time management skills.
EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in any related field.
