Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is on the search for a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to lead the Food Safety Quality Assurance department at our Home Office in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will ensure ongoing quality assurance efforts to sustain a continuous supply of specified food products. You will also create and maintain product specifications; Monitor/audit product quality and supplier processes/services; Research and elevate trends to help identify and resolve food product issues and identify quality improvement opportunities; and monitor regulatory compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Review restaurant, distribution, and supplier facility food safety audits to ensure that all restaurants and approved suppliers follow Firebirds Wood Fired Grill standards and comply with Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Quality Assurance requirements.
- Create and maintain product specifications to ensure all new and existing products have established and documented product specifications.
- Execute audit plans and conduct product compliance audits. Monitors product compliance audits to ensure adherence to product specifications.
- Report product and supplier performance to internal stakeholders. Ensure suppliers are continuously up to date on all food safety requirements and product KPI data reporting.
- Evaluate product complaints and compliance issues from stores and develop solutions. Maintain database to ensure it is current and accurate. Liaison between the store and supplier regarding quality issues.
- Supervise and monitor 3rd party supplier auditing firms contracted by Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. Maintain knowledge of applicable laws.
- Conduct cross-grades on health inspections and 3rd party audit results to stakeholders.
- Analyze third party food safety audit and pest service data and report results to stakeholders.
- Assist with maintenance of field HACCP plans.
- Manage the schedule of various menu items for QA cross-functional team reviews.
- Travel up to 20% will be required by both air and car
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years of related industry experience
- Strong knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes in food manufacturing and/or restaurant operations.
- General knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
- Good knowledge of regulatory codes.
- Good knowledge of applicable laws for food.
- Good knowledge and understanding of retail, restaurant or foodservice production industry.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills
