The Team You’ll Work With …
As a Production Team Lead, you'll be part of our dedicated Production Team, working to elevate safety, quality, and productivity. With many members our team celebrating 5 years with us, we have a strong, organized, and supportive culture. This team consists of multiple shifts operating multiple glaze lines and kilns. We operate a tight, highly organized schedule leveraging best-in-class scheduling, firing, and glazing tools. You won’t find any paper on the shop floor, as everything is managed in systems. Partnering with our fantastic Innovation and Scheduling team, you'll be set up for success. This role reports to the Production Manager - Firing Team, Enrique Tamaniz, and is an onsite role in Aromas, CA. This is a non-exempt position at $22.00 hourly, plus a 6 % shift differential for swing shift 2:00 pm - 10:30 p.m.
The opportunities you will have …
- Lead the charge for daily operations of the Tecoma Kiln swing shift team.
- Dive into training on waste streams and types to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct absorption and conformance testing to drive key decisions.
- Master kiln start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Leverage G-suite tools, especially Google Sheets and Gmail, for seamless data collection and communication.
- Inspire and motivate your team to achieve shared goals of safety, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Be a champion of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Report and manage kiln issues with the maintenance team.
- Communicate clear instructions and daily targets to teammates.
- Collaborate on contingency plans for absences.
- Lead daily meetings to share updates and events.
- Document attendance and report to the manager.
- Address local-level safety and people-related issues promptly.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
- Manage PPE inventory and ensure proper usage.
- Report non-compliance and incidents accurately.
- Get certified to operate a forklift!
- Be prepared to cover overtime shifts and support teammates when needed.

About You:
You're a strong leader who is empathetic, kind, patient, and passionate. You thrive in collaboration but can also take the lead independently. You're all about best-in-class support and communication.
- You have 5 years’ of experience in Manufacturing
- You build strong relationships.
- You have a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- You're a doer – you see what needs fixing and you get it done.
- You're resilient and determined to hit project goals.
- You're flexible, fun, and detail-oriented.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required! A majority of our team is Spanish first.
- Communicate with all teams effectively.
- Organize your workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Familiar with ERP systems and proficient in Gmail, Asana, and Salesforce.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
Physical Requirements:
- Work onsite at our Aromas, CA facility – a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Be prepared to be active – walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, and lifting (up to 40 lbs.).
