Seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining vendor relationships, processing invoices, and facilitating timely payments. This position will be required to report to the office in Chattanooga, TN.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify incoming invoices against purchase orders and receipts.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, including coding, data entry, and reconciliation.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions and vendor agreements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional manner.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication.
- Monitor and maintain vendor accounts to ensure timely payments and compliance with payment terms.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable function.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with [specific software, if applicable] is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
