It operates print and internet publications, e-commerce sites, marketplaces, develops aviation real estate, and provides financing solutions. We are seeking a talented Editor to join our team to report on the latest in space exploration.
The ideal candidate will be based in Chattanooga, TN, and possess an enthusiasm for space exploration, rocket launches, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Reporting: Conduct thorough research on space exploration, including updates from NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and other key players. Write articles, news briefs, and features based on this research.
- Live Event Coverage: Attend and report on rocket launches, press conferences, and other significant space-related events either in-person or virtually, providing live updates via social media, blogs, or video content.
- Editorial Support: Assist the editorial team with fact-checking, editing, and content curation for space sections or special features.
- Social Media Management: Help manage social media accounts by posting updates, engaging with the community, and increasing visibility of space-related content.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in journalism, communications, aerospace engineering, physics, or related fields.
- Writing Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills with a portfolio showcasing your ability to write clearly and engagingly about technical subjects for a general audience.
- Interest in Space: A demonstrated passion for space exploration, technology, and science; familiarity with the major players in the industry.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, supporting team efforts while managing individual tasks.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for event coverage, and to adapt to changing priorities or breaking news.
