Barista and Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cashier and BARista to join our team. As a Barista at our wine/coffee/beer counter, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while serving high-quality beverages. Your expertise in customer service will ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience at Firefly Cafe!

Duties

• Takes customer orders quickly and friendly, with a focus on culture and mission
• Use POS (Point of Sale) system accurately and take cash and credit orders
• Answer customer questions about menu choices, and offer appropriate suggestions
• Provide quality dining and event experiences to ensure that orders are completed
• Check in with customers to ensure their experience is the best possible
• Bus counter and surrounding area
• Clean the front of house area throughout scheduled shift
• Completion of opening front of house procedures and/or closing procedures
• Maintain drink machines, and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting
• Maintain clean glassware and keep shelving stocked
• Follow all set operation procedures and food health and safety regulations
• Manage a high-volume beverage assembly line with minimal errors
• Smile, and have fun

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests
• Proficiency in food preparation and handling practices
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Experience with POS systems or cash registers is preferred
• Knowledge of coffee, beer and wine is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• A positive attitude and willingness to help both customers and team members

Requirements

• Food Handler’s Certification (will provide training upon offer)
• Ability to sit, stand, bend and be on feet for up to 4 hours at a time
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds (changing kegs, receiving shipments)
• Must be 18 years old (per NC state server law)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
