We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pilot in Command (PIC) to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary
The PIC will be responsible for leading drone show performances and conducting test and maintenance flights at our test field. This role requires extensive travel to show locations, many of which occur on weekends. The PIC will collaborate closely with our producers and operations managers to ensure all equipment and information are in place to execute shows safely and in line with Firefly's high standards. Additionally, the PIC will support fleet testing and maintenance and provide valuable feedback to our development team based on field experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pilot in Command for drone show performances and test flights.
- Work with producers and operations managers to prepare for shows, ensuring all equipment and logistical needs are met.
- Conduct pre-flight planning, risk assessments, and safety checks to guarantee successful and safe drone operations.
- Travel to various show locations as required, with flexibility for weekend events.
- Assist in testing and maintaining the drone fleet during office hours and between shows.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of flight operations and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent certification.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong understanding of drone technology, flight control systems, and safety protocols.
- Ability to travel extensively, including weekends and possibly internationally.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, including producers, operations staff, and technical developers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to operate company vehicles if necessary.
