Job Summary
Summary

The Wire Harness Assembler is responsible for constructing wire harnesses using wires, connectors, and plugs for electrical systems and electronic equipment. This role requires interpreting electrical wiring schematics, assembling harnesses, and ensuring all components meet quality standards through thorough inspection and testing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform repetitive tasks with precision for extended periods
  • Handle and move objects with up to 20 pounds of force frequently
  • Identify and distinguish colored wires to ensure accurate assembly

Job Duties:

  • Route and tie wires to form wire harnesses for electrical and electronic equipment
  • Interpret work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine required materials and assembly sequence
  • Select appropriate wires, adjust machine settings, and perform stripping and cutting operations
  • Bundle and secure wires using manual techniques or machine
  • Attach wire ends to components or plugs using crimping tools
  • Insert cables into protective tubing and apply heat shrink to safeguard against dust and moisture
  • Use testing boards or multimeters to verify wiring continuity and network functionality
  • Label wires accurately with identification markers and specifications
  • Ensure all wire harnesses meet required standards and specifications
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong motivation and attention to detail
  • Excellent hand dexterity and fine motor skills

Physical Requirements:

This role requires manual dexterity to handle tools and controls safely. The position involves frequent walking and standing, with occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
