Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively to ensure their recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated.
- Provide proper handling and restraint of animals during examinations or procedures.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and emergency/preventive health measures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and training.
- Experience with kennel management and care for various animal species.
