Job Summary: Non-Traditional restaurants act as a vital part of the high-growth objectives and success of the Firehouse Subs® brand. The Sr. Manager, Non-Traditional Development, FHS US&C serves as the key business partner and brand liaison for non-traditional & institutional partners in the US and Canada, and is responsible for all non-traditional development, including analytics, strategy and execution.
This role will be based in Jacksonville, FL in a hybrid schedule being in office Monday -Thursday and remote on Friday.
The Sr. Manager is also responsible to support franchisees for anything related to their restaurant business including operations and profitability. They work with the franchisees to help them grow a valuable, successful business. In partnership, they work to understand areas of opportunities in sales, traffic, operations, profitability, restaurant image, and growth and help identify improvement plans and recommendations to be able to drive results. In addition, the Sr. Manager is responsible for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities for non-traditional development across several verticals, including airports, malls, universities, and other alternative formats.
The Sr. Manager, Non-Traditional, FHS US&C will spend time with non-traditional & institutional partners in market and in restaurants, developing deep knowledge of the franchisees’ business and action planning alongside them to increase the success of their businesses and a positive presence of the Firehouse Subs® brand. The Sr. Manager will support investment-oriented aspects of the franchisees’ business, including development, growth, remodeling, and equipment investments.
This position involves reporting on and presenting key business initiatives to Senior and Executive Management on a routine basis.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Perform strategic, competitive and partnership analysis for non-traditional development to assess Firehouse Subs priority non-traditional channels and venues (e.g. airports, universities & offices, travel & toll plazas, military bases, etc.)
- Manage partnerships and business development with key concessionaires and franchisees, including sourcing new partners and structuring new development deals and partnerships
- Utilize data, analytics, geospatial platforms, and other planning tools to evaluate growth opportunities, ROI and payback, and conduct market optimization studies
- Broad cross-functional scope including brand standards, compliance, operations, development, business development, franchising, finance, legal, brand marketing, format innovation, technology, design and image, menu adoption and performance management
- Transform national plans into applicable opportunities for non-traditional business
- Attend relevant trade shows to represent Brand, acquire industry knowledge, and build relationships and source new opportunities
- Own development pipeline responsibility and can deliver defined number of openings per year
- Navigate governmental and institutional processes, particularly around RFP and permitting processes
- Network across other non-traditional business leaders of other RBI brands
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years’ experience in business development, strategic development, franchising, operations, real estate, restaurants, hospitality or other related fields
- Experience in general business management, including understanding P&Ls, finance and non-traditional businesses
- Results-oriented individual that possesses demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, in a fast-paced work environment with a lean team
- Strong time-management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with franchisees, vendors and suppliers, and inspire and influence others without having direct authority
- Exceptional negotiation, verbal and written communication skills, and the confidence to present to senior decision makers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office core product suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel up to 25% of year
