SCOPE OF POSITION :
Responsible for supporting the Cage Shift Manager in ensuring all accounting activities within the Cage Department are performed accurately and efficiently, in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions, as well as established company policies, procedures, and Internal Controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, as well as organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assist the Cage Shift Manager in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of Cage Operations.
- Support the Cage Shift Manager in ensuring the integrity of all financial data produced by Team Members within the department.
- Monitor financial activities related to the Cage and promptly escalate concerns or issues to the Cage Shift Manager.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Cage Supervisors in understanding the complexities of departmental responsibilities.
- Ensure a high level of company-wide service and satisfaction within the Cage by supporting the implementation of team initiatives and service standards.
- Facilitate communication within the department by assisting in organizing and participating in team meetings as directed by the Cage Shift Manager.
- Fill in for the Cage Shift Manager on assigned days off, during vacation periods, or as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
- Assist in maintaining accountability for the accuracy and completeness of departmental records and reports.
- Uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
- Maintain consistent, regular attendance as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
- Exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, supporting the positive representation of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist the Cage Shift Manager in supervisory duties, which may include interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Additionally, support the appraisal of performance, the rewarding and disciplining of Team Members, and the resolution of issues or concerns as delegated.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills. They must be at least 21 years old and demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English. A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants should be highly adept with numbers, computer-savvy, and possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Applicants may qualify with three years of relevant experience and / or training in Casino Cage Operations.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a four-year college or university is preferred. Successful completion of any FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs is desirable. WEEA certification is also preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Applicants must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Additionally, they must demonstrate the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak confidently before groups of employees or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Applicants must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in working with concepts such as probability and statistical inference is also required.
REASONING ABILITY
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The role requires interpreting technical instructions in various formats and effectively handling both abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :
To perform the essential functions of this role, Applicants must regularly communicate effectively through talking or hearing. They are frequently required to stand for extended periods, walk, sit, and use their hands to handle or manipulate objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, they may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds is essential. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
