SCOPE OF POSITION :
Assists the Service Culture Manager with philanthropic tasks related to community functions, events and relationships while assisting Team Member volunteers with company engagement in the community and with internal company initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.
- Assists with the coordination and execution of community events including but not limited volunteer obligations to The Kendall Street Food Pantry, Southwest Michigan Food Bank, Operation Fit, the Tribe, Community Keepers and any volunteer efforts in the future.
- Represents the company in the community and answers questions about company initiatives and upsells to potential customers and promotes the company to individuals for employment opportunities.
- Assists at community events, including but not limited to : non-profit organizations, promotional events with our partner programs and surrounding community businesses.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community leaders.
- Attends, as needed, local community, governmental and economic development events and meetings with the purpose of seeking out opportunities for community involvement while promoting FireKeepers Casino Hotel volunteerism.
- Promotes opportunities to the organization in the area of Team Member community engagement through volunteerism.
- Responsible for coordinating volunteers, and ensures volunteers meet the highest standards of service and represent the company appropriately.
- Track and record volunteer staff and hours, including any VTO when applicable.
- Coordinates and conducts volunteer training and orientation sessions.
- Communicates with volunteers regularly using a variety of methods including email, text messages and phone calls.
- Markets and communicates volunteerism events and activities and solicits feedback on the success of the event while looking for opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Report successes to the Service Culture Manager on a monthly basis showing value and effectiveness of the volunteer program(s).
- Assists with Service Culture Initiatives, including Mystery Shops, WEEA recognition, trainings and events.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
- Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and / or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities :
Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.
Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license, as will be traveling for company and must have insurable driving record.
High School diploma or G.E.D. Well-developed organizational and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to interact with all types of organizations and levels of people. Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to travel. One-year of experience in office administration. Demonstrable concern for people and community with the ability to speak in a public forum with confidence. Must be at least 21 years of age.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Two years of experience in managing charitable giving programs. Prior experience with volunteerism and knowledge of community programs and charitable organizations. WEEA Certified.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematics such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
