What You Will Do:

Provides essential support systems to facilitate consistently optimal quality outcomes on a concurrent basis.  Conducts “real time” assessment, identifies opportunities for process improvement, collaborates with Directors of assigned areas to design, educate, and implement quality strategies.  Assists and acts as a resource to assigned departments, programs, and committees to facilitate quality activities to improve processes and outcomes for patients.

  • Accepts accountability to manage assigned quality initiatives and utilizes performance improvement processes to facilitate planned change.

  • Recognizes the role of concurrent quality reviews and tracer methodology to the development and enhancement of care processes and patient outcomes and compliance with best practices.

  • Possesses knowledge and evaluates evidence-based best practices including core clinical processes and outcomes to develop criteria-based evaluation processes, review patient care and accreditation/regulatory standards compliance, prioritize quality of care issues, and facilitate immediate action when necessary.

  • Conducts “real time”/concurrent assessments of processes and outcomes of assigned areas to facilitate performance improvement.

  • Aggregates data and provides reports that are timely, pertinent, reliable, and accurate to report positive and negative findings to Directors and staff to initiate action plans as needed.

  • Collaborates with clinical Directors regarding the development and refinement of care processes.

  • Institutes immediate feedback to personnel regarding systems/process/quality deficiencies, as needed.

  • Serves as the Acute Stroke Program Coordinator.  Coordinates the Stroke Team and Stroke CQI Team to facilitate optimal processes and outcomes.

  • Facilitates knowledge of and compliance with best practices for stroke care.

  • Works with the Quality Department and appropriate Directors to oversee the Institutional Review Board and assure compliance with processes and documentation.

  • Provides intermittent support for inpatient and outpatient neurology and tele-neurology services.

  • Demonstrates creativity and flexibility in applying accreditation standards, accepted clinical practice standards and evidence-based practices in order to enhance patient care in Medical Center specific situations while maintaining positive professional working relationships.

  • Exercises ingenuity, judgment, and problem-solving techniques in the absence of established guidelines and precedents and consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation from a variety of perspectives, consider several alternatives, and chooses an appropriate course of action.

  • Demonstrates responsibility through responsiveness to others and competent follow-up on matters requiring additional attention; contacts appropriate personnel as required, following appropriate channels of communication.

  • Ensures the timely and effective completion of daily activities, projects, or goals either through self-management or directing the activities of others.  Ensures that tasks are completed at or above established standards and the “product” is perceived by others as having met their need.

What You Will Need:

  • Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio or Certification/Licensure in a related healthcare profession.

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field required. 

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare accreditation, operation, or clinical practice.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accrediting agency standards including those for human subject research, and NFPA Life Safety Codes.

  • Ability to present information to all organizational levels.

  • Ability to perform complex arithmetic functions and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to utilize personal computer and various software applications for the management of information.
