The Inventory Specialist is an integral part of the dispensary team. This position reports to the dispensary General Manager. In this role your main responsibility will be to assist store guests in selecting appropriate medical or adult-use cannabis products for their specific needs. Customer Experience Representatives are expected to provide best-in-class hospitality and consultation to every guest by engaging in one-on-one interactions from the moment a guest enters the store. Customer Experience Representatives should be friendly, upbeat, and approachable, much like a barista in your favorite coffee shop, a hotel concierge, or boutique retail sales consultant. Customers are drawn to our and dispensaries because every team member is committed to delivering exceptional hospitality, consultative services, and product knowledge.
We’re seeking someone dedicated to creating a dominant presence by managing positive customer-focused relationships within the dispensary and among the staff. The Inventory Specialist will update company retail sales inventory and ecommerce software daily. The Inventory Specialist must adhere to all Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMCP) regulations and maintain expertise in the utilization and functionality of METRC and all related systems used at the dispensary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the dispensary Designated Representatives (DR) to identify marketing needs and promptly deliver compliant materials for state review and approval.
- Conduct market research, analysis and source customer feedback to gain insights that help shape our product portfolio.
- Deliver results and strategic direction by ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly.
- Execute and follow up on operational standards and policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies within retail stores.
- Prepare and package orders for customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized processing room. Maintain facility cleanliness.
- Receive, count, and document inventory deliveries.
- Completes required data entry (logging transactions, transfers, and daily intake/outgoing product) using Excel and state electronic record keeping systems.
- Adhere to distribution guidelines. Unpack/sort/label merchandise as directed.
- Merchandising and restocking and ordering.
- Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Embodies the culture, values, and tenets of the Company.
- This role may be required to assist with other duties as assigned as well as in other functions of the operation including but not limited to: sales consulting, outreach, security and visual merchandising

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma
- More than 1 year of formal sales/networking experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills, sociable, outgoing
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Experience working in a sales role in a highly regulated industry preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test required
Physical Requirements:
- Long periods of prolonged sitting and standing
- Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer
- May require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally
Work Environment:
- Similar to a busy retail store
- Constant interaction with internal and external stakeholders
