What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Technician position at Fireline Corp?
Are you an Experienced Electrician with a background in installing and wiring control systems? Would you like to learn more about working with fire alarm and specialty systems?
If so, check out Fireline Corporation—we are seeking Electricians to work with various fire protection systems such as suppression and fire alarm systems.
Qualified candidates will be trained to use their electrical skills to work on fire alarm systems and specialty fire protection systems like clean agent, water mist, and air sampling systems. This individual will be responsible for the commercial and industrial installation of fire alarm systems, control panels, devices, wire, boosters, communicators, as well as programming.
Primary Job Tasks:
- Install equipment in fire alarm systems and specialty suppression systems
- Proficient in EMT and Rigid conduit installation
- Work with tools, equipment, and follow safety procedures.
- Understand basic mechanical and electrical concepts found at a job site.
- Be able to work from shop drawing designs
- Be able to clearly communicate both written and verbal
- NICET certified preferred or be willing to work towards certifications through the Fireline training program.
- Occasional out of town travel work
- Overtime and nightwork as required

What we’re looking for…
You’ll be a fit for us if you have at least 3 years of experience with control wiring. installing and and basic troubleshooting of electrical controls and circuits.
To be qualified, you must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. You must also be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Our technicians often work indoors and outdoors, so you must be comfortable working in different environments. Also, this position will require the ability to read, speak, sit, stand, walk, use your hands, reach, climb ladders and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. You should also be able to measure, cut and install materials for performing repairs.
