If so check out Fireline! Fireline is looking for mechanical technicians to work in our Special Hazards Installation Team.
As one of our Installation Technicians, you will be responsible for installing equipment in various fire protection systems.
Qualified mechanical fitters will be trained to install specialty suppression systems like clean agent, water mist and air sampling systems.
Primary Job Tasks:
- Install equipment in various specialty suppression systems
- Work with tools, equipment, and follow safety procedures.
- Understand basic mechanical and electrical concepts found at a job site.
- Be able to work from shop drawing design.
- Proficient in cutting, threading and grooving pipe.
- Proficient in piping installations including but not limited to schedule 10, 40, 80, 160, stainless tubing and copper.
What we’re looking for…
You’ll be a fit for us if you have at least 3 years of experience performing working with installation of mechanical equipment, pipe fitting or experience with sprinkler or suppression systems.
To be qualified, you must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. You must also be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Our technicians often work indoors and outdoors, so you must be comfortable working in different environments. Also, this position will require the ability to read, speak, sit, stand, walk, use your hands, reach, climb ladders and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. You should also be able to measure, cut and install materials for performing repairs.
In addition to the primary job tasks you must be able to:
- Be able to clearly communicate both written and verbal
- NICET certified preferred or be willing to work towards certifications through the Fireline training program.
- Occasional out of town travel work
- Overtime and nightwork as required
- Show an aptitude for learning the installation of fire suppressing systems.
- Show a commitment to quality and a sense of responsibility for safety and the protection of life and property.
- Be self-motivated and reliable with a strong work ethic, integrity, and a great attitude.
- Treat all co‐workers with respect and empathy while communicating effectively to meet team goals
- Use your experience, knowledge and training to effectively solve problems and demonstrate good judgment.
- Set priorities with a sense of what’s most important and the time and difficulty involved to finish tasks.
