What are the responsibilities and job description for the Road Mechanic position at Firematic Supply Company?

Firematic is a family-owned business who has been serving those who protect us all for over 50 years! In partnership with McNeilus Truck Manufacturing, Inc., a recognized leader in refuse collection equipment we have started a new division, Firematic Heavy Duty. We are looking for experienced diesel technicians to join us in this new venture and be a part of the growth by getting in on this ground floor opportunity!
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
This position will spend the majority of the time on the road traveling to customer sites throughout CT and NYS
Diagnose, repair and maintain refuse vehicles.
Troubleshoot customer concerns and work to resolution
Ensure repairs are made in a proper and timely manner to avoid future issues
Requirements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Self-starter with positive can-do attitude
Knowledge of Diesel engines preferred
Valid class CDL B drivers license or willingness to obtain within the first year
Knowledge of up-to-date methods of maintaining autos, trucks preferred
ASE certifications a plus!
This position is Monday - Friday 7:30-4 with potential for overtime for emergency service calls. Hourly rate $25-40/hr DOE.
