What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds and Facility Support Specialist position at Fireplace Stone & Patio?
Expectations: The purpose of the Building and Grounds Support Specialist is to ensure this property always looks professional and well-groomed. This position is one of a working person, participating as required in the operations of the yard, warehouse, office area, and showroom.
Major Responsibilities: These include, but are not limited to the following:
A. Grounds Maintenance
B. Building Maintenance
C. Sample Room Organization
D. Cardboard Recycling
E. Supply Errands
Associated Duties: These include, but are not limited to the following:
A. Grounds:
GFSS has the following duties to perform. This includes but is not limited to:
1. All entryways kept clear of mud, snow, trash, etc.
2. All planted areas to be watered when needed, kept free of weeds, trash, and bushes trimmed when needed.
3. Entire property must be patrolled to keep free of debris.
4. Outside lights kept in working order.
5. Trash cans and smoking receptacles are to be maintained.
6. Keep paver and furniture displays clean and presentable.
7. Help setup and cleanup events we have.
B. Building:
1. All interior lighting to be kept in working order.
2. Respond to plumbing problems as they arise.
3. Run and maintain electric sweeper in warehouse.
4. Recycle cardboard and maintain compactor
5. Keep restrooms and breakroom supplied.
6. Keep supervisor informed of supplies needed and or repair needs.
7. Vacuum front offices and training room as needed. Empty trash and
collect recycling from front offices. Ensure our employees and
customers enter a clean environment.
8. Wipe down conference room tables and keep chairs in order.
9. Run a mop down hallway when needed due to winter foot traffic.
C. Sample Room
1. The sample room must be monitored on a regular basis to keep all brick and cultured stone samples in their assigned places.
2. The floor must be kept clean, and all returned samples put where they belong.
3. The trash can in sample room should be emptied when needed.
4. Communicate with brick and cultured stone buyer assistants when our stock samples are running low.
D. Recycling
1. All cardboard (free of wax coating) is to be recycled using our compactor
2. Compactor is to be maintained in good working order with routine maintenance.
E. Supply Errands:
1. Picking up assorted materials and supplies as needed.
2. On occasion pick up drivers that have taken their truck in for service.
3. Assist Fleet & Facilities Manager with picking up supplies as needed.
Assemble Grills, fire pits, patio furniture following manufacturer's
instructions.
Help with deliveries, take to customer’s residence and professionally placed where they would like it. Helpful nature is a plus, helping where needed and occasionally fulfilling requests if someone may need something done to their
office. New chair assembly, desk moved, light bulb changed, etc.
