The Firestone Family began farming in the Vancouver, WA, in 1896.  We are a fully integrated grower processing operation for domestic and export fruit customers. Our fruit is harvested at the peak of ripeness, processed in our state-of-the art facility, and packed for shipment, ensuring quality in every product from the farm where it was grown to the finished bag in the consumer’s freezer. 

Position Summary 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, under close supervision, performs entry-level duties as assigned in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in the operation of facilities production lines and performs related duties as assigned. 3 years of experience required or ability to quickly learn necessary skills to be successful within 6 months of starting date. Expected to primarily focus on completion of preventive work orders and supports other team members in larger projects by helping where current experience and skill level can assist. Must be able to enter completion notes consistently into Fiix after work orders are complete. 

Responsibilities: 

• Available to work swing shifts or day shifts, depending on business needs. 
• Perform and document regular, preventive service to all company property and equipment including but not limited to machinery, forklifts, trucks, trailers controls, and safety equipment. 
• Perform and document planned and unplanned repair including hot-work, confined space and mechanical adjustments while adhering to all safety protocols and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices). 
• Understand “production schedules” and work with management to deploy maintenance in a manner that is productive and results in minimum downtime. 
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) with company managers, and operators of each area.  
• Monitor all hot work and confined space entry procedures and activities. Verify work is done in a safe manner inside and outside all covered processes. Keep all equipment in good working order before and after work is done. 
• Make SOP update recommendations. 
• Have ability to aid in troubleshooting of electrical components with the help of another individual on the team to support process and answer questions. 

Administrative Activities: 

• Maintain critical spare parts inventory for company wide application. 
• Record test measurements of various equipment and log data in an organized and timely fashion. 
• Provide audit assistance (act as 3^rd party) for areas not under direct purview. 
• Participate in safety committee and operations meetings monthly. 

Job Essential Functions:

• Ability to wear protective equipment necessary for safety requirements. 
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, work in splayed positions, and carry materials up to 100 lbs. daily. 
• Ability to work weekends, nights, and emergency maintenance calls. 
• Decision making/working independently. 
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics. 
• Ability to take voltage, amperage, OHM, and pressure readings Ability to be certified to operate forklifts and scissors lifts. Ability to fabricate and weld.  
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems. 

Required Experience: 

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; to include maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding machinery.
