JOB SUMMARY:
Firestone Walker Brewery is seeking a motivated Automation Engineering Apprentice to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our current automation platform while contributing to the development and implementation of updated versions of our main liquid processing software. The apprentice will work closely with the Automation Engineer to understand the brewery's automation systems, processes, and operational needs. This position is ideal for an individual with a passion for technology and a desire to grow their expertise in industrial automation within the dynamic environment of a craft brewery.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Learn and maintain the current automation platform used in brewery operations.
- Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of updated liquid processing software.
- Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues.
- Participate in software and hardware upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Document processes, changes, and updates to the automation system for future reference.
- Support the integration of new automation technologies into existing workflows.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the automation and engineering team.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or similar field preferred.
- A basic understanding of electronics, instrumentation, and PLCs in industrial applications.
- Proficient knowledge of automation systems, software development, or related technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, prints, schematics, operating manuals, and repair manuals.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal training.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
- Strong troubleshooting/problem solving/logic/process of elimination skills.
- Skilled in AutoCAD or similar drafting programs.

Competitive pay rate for an experienced individual with the right skills.
- Salary Range: $30.00-35.00/hour
