What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Firestorm?
Location: Onsite or Hybrid
Company Overview
Firestorm, an unmanned aircraft system manufacturing company, grew out of a simple question: how does a US ally country with a relatively small defense budget deter an aggressor state with a vastly larger war chest? We’re building the answer to that question, something we call “democratized deterrence.” Firestorm is a VC-backed, defense-meets-Silicon Valley technology company developing mission-adaptable aerial vehicles to put the power back into the hands of the operator. We aim to upend the current defense procurement cost paradigm by bringing world-class capabilities to bear at meaningfully lower costs
About The Role
Firestorm is seeking a strategic Director of Finance to join our team reporting directly to the SVP of Operations. This role will develop, grow, and lead the finance organization for a venture-backed defense technology company experiencing rapid growth. You will be responsible for leading financial strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has successfully navigated Series A, B, and C funding rounds as well as government (FAR/DFAR) contracting compliance. The candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a US security clearance.
About You
You are a strategic thinker and hands-on finance leader who thrives in the fast-paced, ever-evolving world of startups. You bring both the analytical rigor and operational know-how to manage day-to-day finances while keeping an eye on the big picture. You understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with scaling a business in the defense market – from managing runway and burn to preparing for funding rounds and building DCAA compliant financial infrastructure from the ground up.
Responsibilities
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, location and more.
Join us at Firestorm and be a part of a transformative team dedicated to shaping the future of defense solutions!
