Job Overview
The Foster Care Case Manager plays a crucial role in supporting children and families within the foster care system. Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs of children and families involved in the foster care system.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans that address the unique needs of each child.
- Collaborate with foster parents, biological families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for children.
- Monitor the progress of children in care and make necessary adjustments to service plans as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to foster families to enhance their caregiving skills and address any challenges they may face.
- Facilitate communication between all parties involved, including schools, healthcare providers, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for the rights and best interests of children in foster care during meetings and court hearings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children and families within child protective services or child welfare systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities and experience working with individuals who have such needs is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing case documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
