Come to work in the beautiful Petoskey/Charlevoix/Harbor Springs area! We have an opening for a landscape/tree care technician. This job involves planting trees, treating trees, trimming, removal, and more.
The applicant will need to have or be able to obtain a:
- Class A CDL
- Certified pesticide applicator license
- Certified Arborist Certification

Career Path/ Pay:
Level 1: "PHC Tech Apprentice" - $18-$22/hr
- Training Focus:Learn foundational plant health care practices, safety protocols, and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Certifications:Begin working toward pesticide applicator certification.
- Key Skills:Basic knowledge of tree biology, pest and disease identification, and soil health.
- Responsibilities:Assist in PHC treatments, maintain equipment, and support senior technicians. Also, assisting on the tree trimming and removal crews.
- Advancement: 3-6 months to Level 2.
Level 2: "PHC Technician"-$22-$24/hr
- Experience and requirements:1-2 years in PHC or related field.
- Certifications and license:Pesticide applicator license,
- Key Skills:Proficient in pest and disease diagnosis, treatment application, and plant health assessments.
- Responsibilities:Conduct routine PHC treatments, monitor plant health, and communicate findings with clients and team members.
- Advancement: 6-12 months to Level 3.
Level 3: Certified Arborist/ PHC Foreman - $24-$27/hr
- Experience:3-5 years in PHC.
- Certifications:Advanced certifications in arboriculture or plant health care.
- Key Skills:Expertise in integrated pest management (IPM), soil and nutrient management, and advanced diagnosis techniques.
- Responsibilities:Lead PHC projects, mentor junior technicians, and develop customized plant health plans.
Level 4: Certified Arborist - Supervisor/Sales - $27-$34/hr
- Experience:Extensive experience in PHC and leadership roles.
- Certifications:ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (preferred) or specialized PHC certifications.
- Key Skills:Strategic planning, PHC division development, and high-level decision-making.
- Responsibilities:Develop and expand PHC services, manage budgets, foster client relationships, and contribute to overall company growth.

Other details:
- The job is full-time (2000 hours per year) but seasonal (April through December), so we work a lot of hours during the busy season (especially May, June, and July). It is possible that we can make this a year-round job for the right candidate.
