Position Summary

As a Commercial Loan Processor at First Alliance Credit Union, you will play a crucial role in facilitating a seamless loan process for our members. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and adhering to policies and procedures, ensuring an exceptional member experience, and managing the documentation and funding process for commercial loans. You will engage directly with members, addressing inquiries and providing guidance throughout the loan lifecycle, while supporting the overall mission, vision, and values of our credit union.

Essential Functions

  • Policy and Procedure Development: Lead in creating and maintaining loan processing procedures and ensure compliance and efficiency in the loan process and policy.
  • Member Engagement: Provide outstanding member service by engaging with members throughout the loan process, addressing questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure the production and collection of accurate and complete documentation for all loan applications and closings. Verify and validate documents to ensure they meet credit union standards.
  • Loan Funding and Booking: Coordinate and oversee the loan funding process, ensuring all necessary steps are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Annual Reviews: Assist and perform annual reviews by gathering appropriate documentation and information necessary for loan assessments.
  • Ordering and Verifying Services: Order required services (i.e., appraisals, credit reports, UCCs, flood, title etc.) and verify their accuracy to ensure thorough loan evaluations.
  • Lien Perfection: Manage the lien perfection process to ensure the correct documents, directions and filings are complete to appropriately secure our lien position in the appropriate order.
  • Member Communication: Handle incoming phone calls related to business inquiries, providing clear and informative responses to support member needs.
  • Mission Alignment: Support and promote the credit union’s growth and uphold its mission, vision, and values in all interactions and processes.
  • Reporting and Portfolio Assistance: Coordinate and assist in the creation, updating and accuracy of business lending reporting and tracking.
  • Department Collaboration: Collaborate with team members within the business lending department to ensure excellent service and loan portfolio integrity in addition to coordinating with other departments to help grow relationships and smooth member transition to other services.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Community Lending Manager

Pay And Benefits

Starting Pay: $20.78- $24.45 an hour

There may be an increase of base pay based on skills and experience.

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Three years to five years of financial institution experience.
  • Minimum of 1-year knowledge of lending.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and loan processing software.

  • Reporting: The accuracy and timeliness of records, documents, and reporting. The ability to create complete, correct, and appropriate detailed records. Compliance with established reporting policies and deadlines.
  • Communication: The ability to effectively converse and listen to both internal and external members. The use of proper written and grammatical skills, and the meaningful application of computer technology.
  • Policy Compliance: The degree to which the employee has a knowledge of an complies with organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Work Quality: The level at which accurate and complete records are kept related to area of responsibility. The ability to accurately record, organize, and store company information. Compliance with established recordkeeping procedures and legal requirements.
