Position Summary
The Real Estate Manager plays a key leadership role in fulfilling our mission to help members achieve homeownership and financial stability. This individual will lead the strategic initiative of growth and development within the real estate lending department.
The Real Estate Manager focuses on developing mortgage lending products and services that best serve the financial needs of our members and the communities we serve. This role emphasizes creating pathways to homeownership, increasing financial literacy, and fostering lasting relationships with members, real estate professionals, and community organizations. By aligning product offerings with member needs, the Real Estate Manager advances the credit union’s mission of fostering financial inclusion and providing opportunities for sustainable homeownership.
Essential Functions
Leadership & Staff Development
- Provide leadership and guidance to the mortgage lending team, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s mission and objectives.
- Foster a culture of high performance, empowerment, and continuous improvement, helping team members develop the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive.
- Encourage professional development and support employees in achieving their individual and collective goals. Reinforce the importance or serving members with excellence.
- Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of mortgage lending operations and community impact.
Mission-Driven Mortgage Lending & Strategic Oversight
Lead the development and enhancement of mortgage products, including first mortgages, home equity loans, and loans for manufactured homes, ensuring these offerings are accessible, competitive, and aligned with members’ financial goals.Develop innovative processes and products to make homeownership more attainable, including underrepresented or underserved populations.Serve as a subject matter expert on mortgage lending trends, providing strategic insights to adjust products and services to meet evolving member needs.Oversee compliance with regulatory standards for all mortgage lending operations in partnership with the Compliance and Risk Management Departments.Participate in strategic planning to align real estate lending with the credit union’s long-term goals and evolving member needs.Continuously evaluate market trends, competitor offerings, and member feedback to recommend new mortgage products and services.Community Engagement & Partnership Development
Cultivate relationships with realtors, builders, mortgage brokers, and manufactured home dealers to create opportunities for potential homebuyers.Collaborate with community organizations and local leaders to promote financial education and increase access to homeownership.Represent the credit union in community events and initiatives that promote housing stability and financial empowerment.Operational Excellence & Fiscal Responsibility
Oversee mortgage lending operations, ensuring processes are efficient, member-focused, and compliant with industry standards.Monitor performance metrics, including loan production, pricing strategies, and service quality to ensure competitive positioning in the market.Supervise the mortgage lending team, operations, and budgeting processes, ensuring financial goals are met while supporting the credit union’s mission, vision, and core values.Pay and Benefits

There may be an increase of base pay based on skills and experience.

Education :
A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g., finance, business, marketing, or related field certifications in lieu of a degree).
Experience :
