Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The MRSS Therapist is a principal member of the Clinical Team who provides specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, crisis intervention and providing psychotherapy sessions for individuals, groups, and/or families.
The MRSS Therapist reports directly to the MRSS Supervisor, with general oversight by the Program Manager.
Responsibilities
Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the area’s psychotherapy,clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and crisis intervention.
Develop a therapeutic relationship with each client.
Available for clinical consultation
Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned professionals, parents or outside agencyprofessionals assigned to case.
Assume a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and supportservices needed upon discharge
Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings
Complete all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames
Provides education and resources for patients and family members
Participates in continuing professional education, departmental meetings and teaching
Required one to two hours of unpaid supervision and/or clinical team meeting
Maintain supervision log for supervisee and/or POD members as required by the agency, andstate licensure requirements
Continued education to meet licensure requirements
Other duties as assigned
Respond to all crisis calls during your shift
DE/ITP updates
Psychotherapy
Provide case management (CPST or TBS), if needed
Completion and maintain MRSS training
Completing CANS assessments
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum educational level is a Bachelor’s degree in Social work with an Ohio LSW
A Master’s degree, clinical experience LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred
CANS Certified
Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and Insurance
CPR/First Aid Certified
COMPLEXITY OF WORK
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently
Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Works flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone
Computer literacy skills, including Google docs, Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite,and basic database usage, as well as basic typing
Work Experience
Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical recordwhile navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability tocommunicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base isessential
Knowledge and experience with Evidence Based Practice methods of treatment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide crisis intervention
Available for clinical consultation (direct and phone)
Work environment may include an agency office, school-based setting, or in the communityincluding client’s home
Work flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone
Complete all paperwork and documentation required by the agency within designated timeframes
Participate in agency and community meetings as needed
Attend conferences and workshops to maintain professional competence and licensurerequirements
Supervision of QMHS staff and/or interns
Maintain regular and reliable schedule
Required one hour of weekly unpaid supervision/consultation with Clinical Director
Must document hours each week and shall be paid on a Fee for Service basis. See EmployeeHandbook.
