Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Personal Banker/New Account Representative at First American State Bank in Greenwood Village, CO. The successful candidate will help customers with their banking product and treasury management needs. They also help resolve issues and disputes and provide advice on bank offered financial products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Opening accounts - Assist customers in opening checking and savings accounts, money market and CD’s, and offer information on treasury management products as appropriate. Onboarding and document file management.
- Monitor account activity - Oversee customer transactions, monitor account activity, and close accounts when necessary.
- Resolving issues - Resolve disputes, address account inquiries, account balancing, statement availability. Field questions on all new account and product topics.
- Recommending products and services - Provide advice on all financial products offered by the Bank and recommend services that fit a customer's needs. Cross-sell bank services and identify needs to add value to clients’ bank relationship.
- Product knowledge – essential to be successful while assisting depositors,
- Referrals - Refer customers to financial specialists, such as loan officers
- Administrative duties - Complete basic data entry, such as CTR completion, monetary instrument log completion, and suspicious activity reporting
- Customer experience - Proactively meet with customers in person or over the phone to create a positive experience and help the branch meet sales goals.
- Cash handling experience – Candidate will be asked to fill other duties including backup on the teller line.
- Cross training in operations and the ability to handle extra duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Personal Banking and Customer Service skills with relevant experience.
- Experience in Deposits and Opening New Accounts
- Knowledge of and experience in (minimum 2 years) the Banking Industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, applicant should be adept at building and maintaining client relationships. Sales as a service approach to satisfying client needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Self starting and motivated contributor.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Can manage multiple tasks and duties.
- Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft products, outlook, word, excel, etc.
- Cash handling skills/experience is necessary.
