What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Escrow Assistant Intern position at First American?
First American's Internship Program is a full-time, 10-12 week paid internship from June - August 2025 which can be worked from an office or remotely, depending on the job opportunity. As a First American Intern you will work in a program designed to help you gain experience and develop the technical, professional, and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout your career. As a First American Intern you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry - balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities - while under the guidance of a manager and/or mentor. Undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support specific business functions including Marketing, Human Resources, Technology, Accounting and Finance.
This position will be located onsite at 4 First American Way, Santa Ana, CA
The Escrow Assistant Intern will work on various projects and assignments including:
- Open escrow orders and perform initial setup of files
- Work with a checklist to ensure receipt of all needed items into the escrow file.
- Interpret various agreements as they relate to closing and prepare documents required for transactions
- Obtain required escrow documentation in accordance with escrow instructions, policy and procedures, and applicable statutory and Federal regulations
- Audit calculations and legal documents for accuracy
- Communicates requirements and other information to clients

Typical Education
- College/University students enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with 3 months - 2 years of work experience.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00 hourly
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
