OVERVIEW
The Communications Coordinator will help fulfill First & Calvary’s mission of making disciples by helping ensure excellent internal and external communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the Communications Coordinator role are growing disciples of Jesus Christ and have experience in communications, marketing, writing, or other related fields. Other qualifications include:
- strong written communication skills, with an ear for general tone and an eye for specific details
- strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, basic graphic design
- an eye for appealing and effective visual communications
- strong verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- experience writing, editing, and proofing
- experience developing a communications and marketing/messaging plan for an organization
- some experience with social media and website communication
- excitement for learning best communication practices for churches
- a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or other related field
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities will revolve around planning, executing, and finding ways to improve our church family’s internal and external communications. These responsibilities will include:
· partnering with our leadership team to develop church-wide messaging plans and strategies
· assisting with written content and messaging for various digital and printed communications including announcements and messaging in the weekly congregational emails and bulletins, website, bulletin boards, signs, and social media
· working alongside the leadership and staff to carry out implementation church-wide communications mentioned above
· creating story-telling content and coordinating the publishing of articles and stories
· cross training to help with office administration as needed
· other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, 20 hour/week, hourly position that includes paid time off and opportunities for retirement savings. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Senior Pastor.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
