TITLE: Elementary LIFE Program Paraeducator
STAFF LEVEL: Support Staff
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
STATUS: Full Time, 10-month
Overall Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to assist with the delivery of instructional services in the LIFE Program at Life Christian Academy. The LIFE Program is a pull-out program for students with academic challenges in Grades 1-5. Responsibilities include instruction of students, preparation of materials, testing, and data collection/reporting.
Principle Responsibilities
- Instructs students individually or in small groups setting in the LIFE Program under the direction of the LIFE Program teacher
- Assists in the evaluation of student needs and in preparation of appropriate lessons and materials in collaboration with the LIFE Program teacher
- Promotes student understanding of materials presented and reinforces and reviews concepts and skills. Adjusts tasks to suit needs of students if necessary
- Acts as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behavior to students; assists teacher in maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
- Assists and/or instructs students in computer usage and operations
- Communicates with teacher concerning individual student progress or problems
- Provides input for individual student progress reports
- Maintains accurate files and records for students and organization
- Assists with data collection and record keeping
- Following the direction and lead of the LIFE Program teacher
- Works with students in a fair and consistent manner
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents
- Maintains confidential information
- Attends school meetings, trainings, and events as requested by supervisory and/or Head of School

Certifications and Licensure

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent

Safely handle typical chemicals used to clean and sanitize in a commercial setting.
Travel
Other than travel to and from the worksite, it is not anticipated except as may be necessary to attend offsite training or conference.

Hours
Monday through Friday. Approximately 32 hours per week. Exact schedule between the hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm and will be specified at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
