The First Bank and Trust Company is hiring a Treasury Management Manager to lead, develop and manage commercial deposit and treasury operations. This individual can be located in Bristol, Abingdon, Christiansburg or Staunton.
This individual will work with the CEO and Senior Management to lead strategic efforts to optimize the long-term profitability and competitiveness of the Bank's commercial deposits and treasury operations. This is a leadership role, critical in evaluating new commercial market products and solutions to meet commercial client demand. This individual will manage key product solutioning, sales support, vendor terms/contracts and the enhancement of the commercial client experience.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of commercial deposit and treasury management services. They will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The Treasury Management Manager will be able to engage and educate commercial clients and employees on digital banking and self-service technologies. The ideal candidate will focus on results while always acting in the best interest of the client and the bank.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Commercial Deposit and Treasury Management Services to include but not be limited to (1) ACH Payments and Collections (2) Fraud Protection (3) Remote Check Deposits (4) Lockbox Services (5) Merchant Services (6) Remittance Reporting and (6) Wire Transfers.
- Execute strategic and tactical plans to manage business development, productivity and portfolio quality.
- Identify, prioritize, and develop strategies for high-value retention, expansion, and acquisition of customer relationships by delivering knowledgeable advice and solutions.
- Leverage local market networks and centers of influence to identify, prospect, and pursue business opportunities to hit market goals.
- Retain and grow the customer portfolio through regular service reviews, calls, and industry training.
- Oversee the functional development, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of the bank’s treasury management solutions, including cash management, fraud protection, payment processing, merchant services, and other solutions as added.
- Support the Treasury program by developing system settings, parameters, workflows, and necessary documentation for an effective treasury management solution to meet business needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes affecting treasury services to maintain competitive offerings.
- Sales and services the Bank’s business banking products.
- Supervises and leads a team of Treasury Services Support and Sales Specialists.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to align digital initiatives with organizational goals and ensure smooth implementation.
- Identify and assist with implementation of process effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the status of treasury operations results and efficiency projects.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting, Business and/or Finance - Required
- Work Experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Ten or more years of related banking experience – Required
- Certified Treasury Professional Certification - Preferred
MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Understanding of treasury services and commercial deposit products.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
