What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Summer) Full Time 4-year old Teacher position at First Baptist Child Development Cen?
We are currently looking for an experienced teacher to lead a classroom of 4 year old children for the SUMMER ONLY. The Teacher is responsible for developing the weekly curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns. This position would begin late May/early June and would end in mid-August. There is the possibility that this could lead to full-time year round employment with additional benefits.
Duties
- Provides high-quality educational and enjoyable experiences.
- Supervises the children and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
- Maintains our daily schedule.
- Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily activities.
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
- Ensures the cleanliness of the classroom.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports and daily attendance tracking sheets.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the center program.
- Mediates any classroom disputes between children.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the center program, including knowing the whereabouts of your charges at all times.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
High energy.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A strong understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Must be willing to work 40 hours a week.
