Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration
- Oversee daily operations of the center, including staffing, scheduling, enrollment, and facility management
- Ensure compliance with all NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) regulations, health and safety standards, and accreditation requirements
- Maintain required documentation for licensing, inspections, and audits
- Manage budgets, tuition billing, purchasing, and financial reporting in collaboration with center leadership
Staff Supervision & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate qualified staff in accordance with center policies
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
- Provide ongoing professional development, coaching, and performance feedback
- Ensure staff-to-child ratios and coverage are always maintained
Curriculum & Program Quality
- Oversee curriculum implementation that promotes developmentally appropriate practices
- Monitor classroom environments and teaching practices to ensure quality learning experiences
- Support use of child assessments and data to guide instruction
- Promote inclusive, culturally responsive care for all children and families
Family & Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians
- Communicate center policies, events, and child progress through newsletters, conferences, and meetings
- Promote family involvement and build strong relationships with the local community and church
- Represent the center in professional and community settings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (required)
- NC Early Childhood Administrative Credential (Level III preferred)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of administrative experience in a licensed child care setting
- Strong knowledge of NC child care licensing regulations and early childhood best practices
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification and successful background clearance
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, child-focused setting
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, engage in active movement, and respond quickly to emergencies
- Occasional evening or weekend responsibilities for family events or training sessions
