Job Title: Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher - K-5 (ELA and Math)

Job Summary:

First Baptist Christian School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to join our team. This position focuses on providing individualized support in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs, developing effective teaching strategies to support academic growth, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to a Christian education and can help students thrive academically and spiritually.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with exceptional needs, particularly in ELA and Math for grades K-5.

- Provide specialized instruction, adapting curriculum as necessary to meet students' academic, social, and emotional needs.

- Collaborate with general education teachers, administration, and parents to ensure students’ IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals are met.

- Use assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.

- Foster a nurturing, faith-based classroom environment that supports students' growth both academically and spiritually.

- Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed on students’ progress, needs, and achievements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.

- Florida teaching certification in Exceptional Student Education or ability to obtain certification within a specified period.

- Experience teaching ELA and Math to students in K-5 preferred.

- Strong understanding of instructional strategies, classroom management, and differentiation for students with special needs.

- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative spirit to work with students, staff, and parents.

- A committed Christian, active and in good standing with a local church, who supports the mission and values of First Baptist Christian School.
