What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR / OFFICE MANAGER position at First Baptist Church Mahan?
The Church Administrator/office manager is responsible for providing support to the Pastor and Pastoral staff and is to present a positive Christian image to those who contact the church.
Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Manages daily office operations
2. Produces/creates projects using software applications and distributes copies as directed by the Senior Pastor and other ministries, when requested. Paperless maintenance of files and information
3. Maintains active church membership roll
4. Composes letters to bereaved families and “thank you” letters for special contributions.
Competencies:
- Ability to work in harmony with the Senior Pastor, and to work in a highly confidential manner.
- Demonstrate high level of proficiency in MS Office Suite and/or iWork Suite and/or Google Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and/or equivalent training or experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in administrative/office management capacity
This is a 35-hour per week position. The work week is Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate evenings and weekends.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
The position will be subject to pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and Child Protective Services (CPS) check.
