OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Description: The following items are expected to be complied with and adhered to. All duties not included within this list will be assigned by the CFCA Athletic Director(s). Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
• Responsible for knowing and abiding by the CFCA Faculty and Staff Manual
• Responsible for knowing and abiding by all FHSAA rules and regulations
• Responsible for understanding and supporting the mission of CFCA and representing the school to the best of your abilities.
PRACTICES
• Develop and supervise regular practices.
• Work with Athletic Director to develop practice schedule before season begins. Practice schedule must be approved by the Athletic Director and submitted for scheduling purposes within the school/church operations calendar.
• Notify Athletic Director(s) of any changes to practice schedule at least 48 hours in advance.
• Check practice facility/field before and after each practice for cleanliness and order.
• Remain at facility/field at end of practices until all players have left campus.
GAMES
• Dress professionally
• Confirm transportation with Athletic Director(s). Varsity teams should travel together in activity bus or van when available.
• Be present on campus for game day early dismissals of student athletes. Ensure athletes are dismissed in a timely and quiet manner.
• Coordinate team pregame activities/conduct and supervise pregame warmups.
• Coach during the game with intensity, encouragement, and professionalism. Your character will be remembered long after the score.
ASSISTANT COACHES
• Acquire at least one assistant coach as needed that share in coaching philosophy and Christian character. Present to Athletic Director for approval.
• Train assistant coach(es) to supervise practice in the head coach’s absence.
• Guide assistant coaches on technique, training, practice design and development.
COMMUNICATION
• Provide contact information (phone and email) to parents.
• Communicate game times, locations, and expectations to student athletes and parents in a regular and timely manner.
• Establish expectations with team captain(s) and players at the beginning of the season.
ADMINISTRATION
• Provide equipment/uniform inventory to Athletic Director(s) before AND after the season.
• Submit budget requests to Athletic Director(s) for the season.
• Meet with Athletic Director regularly throughout the season and at the end of season to evaluate performance and program needs.
