What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at First Baptist Church of Front Royal, VA?
We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative, clerical and communication tasks. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Word and office equipment. Ultimately, a successful Admin Assistant should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct phone calls as well as take messages
- Write and distribute email and letters
- Create weekly church bulletins, monthly newsletters, biannual business reports, and other documents as needed
- Create and distribute worship aids for services, such as hymn slides, videos, and images
- Develop and maintain website and social media
- Develop and maintain a filing system
- Maintain church database
- Order supplies and research new deals and suppliers
- Help recruit volunteers for worship and other tasks
- Act as the point of contact for church members and vendors
- Act as the liaison between the church and our accountant
Skills
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Outlook, and Google workspace, in particular)
- Knowledge of social media and website maintenance
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- High School degree; additional qualification as an administrative assistant or secretary will be a plus
