SUMMARY
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and chiller systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of First Naples.

Installation, Maintenance, & RepairInstall, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems, including chillers, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration units.Provide preventative maintenance on campus HVAC systems and chillers to ensure efficient operation.Repair and / or replace motors, compressors, and condensing units (3-phase and single-phase systems).Perform copper brazing and soft soldering as needed for system repairs and installations.Replace and upgrade HVAC components to improve system performance and reliability.Troubleshooting & System DiagnosticsLog and troubleshoot chiller issues related to equipment performance and functionality.Troubleshoot control systems and related components to identify and resolve malfunctions.Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, including electrical and mechanical failures.System Testing & Compliance
Conduct performance tests and adjust system settings for optimal operation.Ensure safety and reliability of equipment and systems by adhering to industry standards and best practices.Handle refrigerants safely and comply with all EPA regulations.Documentation & ReportingComplete and maintain accurate and detailed paperwork, including daily updates, parts ordering, and any other related items.Maintain service logs, inspections, and maintenance records for HVAC equipment.Workplace Safety & Additional DutiesFollow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Work collaboratively with other technicians, electricians, and contractors.Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in HVAC technology.Perform additional job duties as required.EVALUATION AREAS FOR ROLE

NoneQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).Minimum of 2 years of HVAC experience (preferred).EPA Type II certification (preferred).Experience in building management is a plus but not required.Experience with copper brazing and soft soldering is a plus.LANGUAGE SKILLS
The individual must have strong communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and campus personnel. Must be able to clearly explain system issues, repairs, and maintenance needs in person, via email, and over the phone. The ability to read and understand work orders, equipment manuals, blueprints, and safety procedures is essential. Must demonstrate professionalism, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with staff, vendors, and service providers.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The individual must have basic computer proficiency to complete work orders, enter maintenance records, and use diagnostic tools and building automation systems. Familiarity with spreadsheets and inventory tracking is beneficial. Must have basic mathematical skills for measuring, calculating load requirements, and handling refrigerant charging and pressure conversions.
REASONING ABILITY
The individual must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues efficiently, apply logical thinking to resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions, and adapt to changing conditions. Must be able to prioritize tasks, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
