SUMMARY
The Video Designer, under the direction of the Communications Director, creates and presents video, photo, and motion design concepts that effectively communicate key messages and move people to action. This person tells stories through video, inspirational films, motion graphics, photography, event coverage, and social media content. They work collaboratively and independently to lead the development and distribution of original content across all platforms that clearly communicates the vision, ministry, and goals of First Naples.
The Video Designer oversees the planning, development, and management of all video, photo, and motion design content produced by First Naples. They create content, both informational and inspirational, that communicates the mission, vision, and values of First Naples.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of First Naples.
- Assists the Communications Director to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.

- Faithfully support the ministries of First Naples by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.

- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of First Naples (Colossians 3:23-24).
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold brand standards through all visual content.
- Conceptualize, write, edit, and produce scripts and video content ideas with input from the Communications Director and team, to ensure quality control and consistency on final projects.
- Direct photography on film shoots and manage the technical aspects of the film including cameras, sound, lighting, design, etc.
- Oversee the creative direction for large-scale projects including event openers, short films, testimony films, specialty promos, etc.
- Manage personal workflow to meet deadlines.
- Understand and execute provided marketing briefs by applying appropriate design trends to provide effective final products for target audiences.
- Produce content for use in weekend services, including bumper videos, motion graphics, and other screen content.
- Manage the capturing of B-Roll footage for church events.
- Oversee and approve design concepts created by freelancers and volunteers.
- Assist in developing and managing volunteer teams for photography and videography.
- Maintain a rich and clearly organized content library with easy access to relevant content.
- Assist Communications Director as assigned.
SPECIFIC WEEKLY TASKS
- Distribute content across all platforms in collaboration with the Communications Team (i.e announcement videos, social media content, project deliverables)
- Participate in capturing content at church events.
- Capture and maintain the archive of church B-Roll video footage.
- Assist with Photography as needed.
- Stay connected and in the know on all active and soon-coming projects.
- Approve video and motion design projects within the video team. GENERAL TEAM EXPECTATIONS
- Passionate about storytelling through video and motion design concepts.
- Work with the Communications Director to ensure all jobs are being completed in a timely manner.
- Be able to report to the team and to internal departments with statuses for most projects in progress.
- Empower volunteers to help with video projects.
- Provide creative direction on video projects
- Contribute ideas to the creative process and provide constructive feedback to the creative team
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in video production, media, communications, or design.
- 2-3 year's experience in video, media, communications or related fields. (Church or ministry experience preferred)
- Experience in videography and motion graphics
- Evidence of a flourishing relationship with Jesus and commitment to His church.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 preferred.
- Great communication and people skills.
- The desire to lead and develop teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
- Highly motivated and creative with a passion for connecting with current and future members of First Naples.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The Video Designer must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a diverse team, volunteers, and church members. They should be able to clearly convey creative ideas, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person. Professionalism, tact, and diplomacy are essential. The ability to interpret creative briefs, technical documentation, and organizational policies is required. A passion for engaging with current and future members of First Naples through media is highly valued.
COMPUTER SKILLS
The Video Designer must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, for video production and motion graphics. Experience with Microsoft 365 is preferred. The role requires competency in PC systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and online research tools to support project management and communication. A basic understanding of budgeting and expense tracking is beneficial.
REASONING ABILITY
The individual must be able to conceptualize and execute multiple projects simultaneously, adapting creative approaches to meet deadlines and organizational goals. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are required to troubleshoot technical issues, adjust to last-minute changes, and develop innovative visual solutions. The ability to remain focused and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and video equipment, and engage in frequent editing and design tasks. The employee must be able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds of video production equipment as needed. Reasonable accommodation can be made for individuals with disabilities.
