Grounds Maintenance Tech
Position Description: Full Time Grounds Maintenance Tech
Reports to: Business Administrator & Facilities Director
Position Summary: The Grounds Maintenance Tech position will assist in maintaining all the church grounds. Responsibilities include working directly with the Business Administrator and Facilities Director. The Grounds Maintenance Tech position will accomplish new landscaping, maintenance and preventative maintenance of all church grounds including lawns, shrubs, trees, drives and sidewalks as well as installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
General Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work through the Work Order system to perform maintenance tasks as directed by the Facilities Director that may include:
- Landscaping maintenance/irrigation installation and repairs/tree and shrub trimming, lawn mowing and pressure washing sidewalks and driveways.
Qualifications:
- The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background check and drug screening.
- Have the ability to apply training and understanding to carry out instructions given in English; written,
oral, or diagram forms.
- Commitment to ongoing spiritual and professional growth.
- Be conscientious and able to work independently.
- Be familiar with various types of lawn maintenance equipment, pesticides, fertilizers, irrigation equipment pressure washers, etc.)
- Have strong customer service skills and the ability to get along with others.
- Be in good physical health (ability to transfer weight up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to climb and work from ladders, ability to stand, walk, sit and stoop, possess hand-eye coordination and arm/hand/finger dexterity. Be able to work from scaffolding or lifts when necessary.
- Be cooperative and show respect and courtesy to all church staff, church members, and church visitors.
- Be punctual, trustworthy, and willing to work.
- Be flexible in availability to accommodate the schedule of church activities.
Evaluation and Compensation:
The Grounds Maintenance Tech works directly with, and receives work direction from the Facilities Director and is accountable to the Business Administrator . The Painter receives an annual performance evaluation. Compensation is reviewed annually.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
