Engineering Manager – Filters
This is a position responsible for providing support to our Albion, Illinois plant. The role is hybrid, with the majority of the time working remotely, but it is required to travel to Albion when direct support in the plant is needed.
First Brands Group is looking for an Engineering Manager – Filters to lead the design, performance, and development of engine air and cabin air filters within our portfolio. This role will oversee a team of engineers, ensuring optimal filtration performance while managing project timelines and troubleshooting complex challenges. The position is based in Albion, IL, but remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of filtration engineers, providing technical guidance and task assignments.
- Develop and refine filter design specifications by analyzing competitive products and customer requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to create and review designs, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Oversee design documentation, including bills of materials, design FMEAs, and ERP system setup.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvements, initiating design modifications as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers, including OEM and Aftermarket partners, for technical reviews and plant visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive filtration preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience managing engineering or technical teams.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD systems preferred.
- Experience working with global teams is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
