The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Representative is responsible for supporting and coordinating the development and implementation of environmental health and safety programs within the organization. This position involves ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, tracking safety incidents, conducting safety and environmental inspections, and assisting with the monitoring of environmental programs. The EHS Representative plays a key role in maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation & Compliance:
- Support the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all company and regulatory safety, environmental, and sustainability standards.
Incident Analysis & Reporting:
- Lead the analysis of incidents, near hits, and safety observations.
- Develop reports documenting incidents and near hits for follow-up and corrective action.
Training & Education:
- Conduct, coordinate, and track training sessions to support EHS programs and regulatory compliance.
Routine Inspections & Observations:
- Perform routine safety and environmental observations to ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address potential safety, health, and environmental risks.
Data Collection & Reporting:
- Assist with data collection for internal and regulatory reports related to safety, environmental, and sustainability matters.
- Help prepare reports for regulatory agencies, ensuring the company’s compliance with environmental laws.
Environmental Program Monitoring:
- Assist in monitoring air, waste, and wastewater programs, ensuring environmental standards are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agency inspections, permitting, and reporting.
Chemical Safety Management:
- Manage the facility’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) program and ensure accessibility and compliance with chemical safety regulations.
Meetings & Communication:
- Arrange and actively participate in EHS meetings, conferences, and collaborative sessions.
- Communicate EHS requirements and initiatives effectively across teams and departments.
Inspection & Risk Management:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for routine safety and environmental inspections.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings and actions required to mitigate risks.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, including special projects or additional compliance activities as needed.
