First Brands is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our location in Brownsville, TX. The Quality Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing methods for process control, testing, and inspection to ensure the quality and integrity of manufactured components. This role supports the investigation and resolution of internal and external customer quality issues and provides onsite support. The Quality Engineer will also be instrumental in maintaining and improving the quality system and working closely with suppliers to meet customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Process Control & Quality Assurance :
- Develop and implement control plans, operator inspection reports, visual aids, manufacturing packets, and SPC applications to maintain high-quality standards.
- Support Quality System Requirements :
- Support and improve quality systems in alignment with IATF requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Issue Resolution :
- Lead containment efforts, root cause analysis, and permanent resolution of internal and external quality issues to ensure continued operational efficiency and product quality.
- Component Development & Qualification :
- Support component development and qualification according to the PPAP requirements to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Supplier Collaboration :
- Work with raw material suppliers to qualify products, address quality issues, and ensure compliance with Trico and customer requirements.
- Process Improvement & Capability Analysis :
- Lead efforts for process capability analysis and improvements, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Audit Participation :
- Participate in both internal and external quality audits, ensuring adherence to quality systems and continuous improvement efforts.
