What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Practitioner position at First Call for Help of Itasca County ~New Leaf Healing Center?
First Call for Help of Itasca County is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner/ Mental Health Rehab Worker (MHP/MHR) to work at our Crisis Stabilization Residents (New Leaf Healing Center). This program is voluntary for the guests we serve and is a position designed to teach and model skills that will allow the guest to alleviate symptoms and begin to build a healthy life within a recovery model. Current position(s) are consistent year-round shifts that vary and allow for staff to pick up shifts as available/needed. On the job training is available with the ability for Mental Health Rehab Workers to become certified Mental Health Practitioners.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services as needed to any individuals using Crisis Services with New Leaf Healing Center (this may include on-call or weekend ).
- Developing, participating in, and facilitating treatment groups, skills practice sessions, dietary and exercise plans, and other on-site offered services
- Coordination with guest providers, referral to mental health, medical, housing and other community referrals as needed
- Working with clients and their families for aftercare stabilization in the community following discharge from New Leaf Healing Center
- Completion of Electronic and Manual records required under DHS licensure
- Administration of medications as assigned by RN, MH Care Coordinator or Treatment Director
- Utilization of the Electronic Health Records for documentation of all services provided
- Assist in transportation of guest as needed to facilitate care
Basic Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Has a clean driving record
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.50 - $22.00 per hour
