The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing credit union membership by supporting the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Marketing and the Marketing team, while spearheading community outreach initiatives. This position involves coordinating events and promotions that align with the FirstCap Gives Back initiatives and managing the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation, the charitable arm of First Capital Federal Credit Union. Responsibilities also include strategizing and executing philanthropic efforts, fostering employee volunteerism, and establishing partnerships within the communities served, ensuring that all efforts reflect First Capital’s mission, vision, and core values.
Minimum Requirements
- Excellent writing skills with which to help create, develop, and implement fundraising campaigns, annual reports, and a grant program, as well as internal and external communications.
- Strong organizational skills to manage “FirstCap Gives Back to You” internal community support program and the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation.
- Experience using social media including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as a tool to grow membership for First Capital Federal Credit Union and the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation.
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills for interacting with members, vendors, and community and business leaders.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends, dependent on Credit Union and Foundation needs.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Canva, and a willingness to learn industry specific programs as needed.
- Requires a college degree in marketing, communications, or related field and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience within retail sales, financial, or non-profit sector.
