Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental assistant/EDDA to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and medical records management, along with proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft. Experience with endodontics/orthodontics is highly desirable.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after use.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Placement of fillings.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups and reminders.
- Support the front desk with administrative tasks as needed, including handling patient inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety regulations within the dental clinic.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software applications such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and record management.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is advantageous; experience in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating professionalism at all times.
