Accounting Manager
FirstCash Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in managing the company's month-end and quarter-end close processes, and assisting in the development and refinement of processes while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and controls.
Job Description
- Oversee the company's month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Review selected journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to the established internal controls framework.
- Assist in managing the external audit of FirstCash.
- Contribute to technical accounting research/projects and the implementation of new accounting standards or non-standard transactions.
- Lead process improvement or system change projects impacting the General Ledger or Accounting function.
- Assist in the review of 10-Q, 10-K, and other SEC filings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders (FP&A, Legal, Licensing, Operations, Tax) on recurring and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Prepare financial analyses, including reviewing and presenting explanations for budget variances and analyzing specific issues/opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
Span of Control
- Responsible for leading one or more distinct functions.
- May manage external vendor relationships.
- Work deliverables are often self-initiated.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience; Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Demonstrated relevant experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
