Position Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Details: Part-Time, 10-15 billable hours per week during the hours of 3:00pm - 7:00pm, $85-$88 per hour on W-2

Position Summary:

The BCBA conducts functional behavioral assessments and provides behavior-analytic interpretations of the results. The BCBA designs and supervises behavior-analytic interventions. The BCBA is able to effectively develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods for use across multiple environments and for a range of cases. The BCBA seeks the consultation of more experienced practitioners when necessary. The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis. BCBAs supervise the work of the ABA therapists on their teams. Note: This is an hourly position that will be dedicated to 10-15 hours/week of afternoon/evening work Monday-Friday between the hours of 3p-7p within First Children’s STRIVE model (i.e., insurance billing). Weekend hours may be required based on client availability/need.

Job and Clinical Responsibilities:

1. Conducts initial and ongoing functional behavior assessments every 6 months or as clinically indicated

2. Develops/updates individualized and evidence-based behavior intervention plans based on assessment results every 6 months or as clinically indicated

3. Creates behavior datasheets that match behavior intervention plans in target name, operational definition, and measurement

4. Submits draft FBAs and behavior plans to their supervisor at least one week before their due date

Insurance Authorizations

1. Completes assessments and required documents for initial insurance authorizations within the allotted assessment time

2. Submits draft initial authorizations to supervisor at least 1 week before the assessment period ends

3. Submits draft insurance treatment plans and re-authorizations to supervisor at least 3 weeks before their authorization period expires.

Case Management Responsibilities

1. Maintains a caseload of up 10-15 billable hours/week

2. Collects, monitors, and analyzes data to ensure data-driven decisions and program modifications are made on an ongoing basis

3. Reviews session notes from BTs/RBTs on an ongoing basis

4. Ensures programming for his/her caseload is created in CentralReach

5. Creates and maintains program materials

Team Responsibilities

1. Ensures relevant team members, including BTs/RBTs, related service therapists, and parents/guardians, are trained on client-specific programming and data collection

2. Responds to questions/concerns from team members and families in a timely manner (including issues that arise after business hours) Supervisory Responsibilities

1. Provides clinical supervision to BTs/RBTs on their teams in line with minimum state and

BACB requirements

2. Ensures clinical supervision is accurately documented

3. Completes feedback tools on BTs/RBTs on a monthly basis to ensure consistent and accurate implementation of academic and clinical programming

4. Reviews feedback tools with BTs/RBTs in a timely manner and ensures signatures are collected at the time of the review

5. Provides BTs/RBTs with prompt and supportive feedback/retraining regarding all observations in a timely manner

Supporting Responsibilities

1. Creates schedule on Central Reach one week prior to service delivery

2. Completes all required paperwork for direct services

3. Converts appointments to his/her timesheet on Central Reach as soon as possible after the appointment and no later than the established grace period for conversions

4. Submits required paperwork for billing

5. Meets with direct supervisor on a regular, pre-determined schedule that meets minimum state licensing requirements

6. Attends and participates in scheduled BCBA meetings, clinical reviews, and all staff meetings

7. Completes all training hours assigned by Supervisor

8. Ensures appropriate documentation is submitted for any approved, external trainings that he/she completes

9. Provides on and off-site trainings to technicians as needed

10. Maintains BCBA certification and state license, if applicable

11. Maintains CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications

12. Follows policies, procedures, and standards of professionalism as outlined in company handbook

13. Completes all other duties as assigned by supervisors

Education, Experience and Requirements:

1. Master’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Mental Health Counseling, or related field

2. Experience developing and implementing ABA programs for children and adolescents in home and clinic settings

3. Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification

4. 2 years post-certification experience developing and implementing ABA programs for children and adolescents in home, school, and community settings

5. Appropriately licensed in the state of practice

6. Clearances (current within 90 days)

a. PA or NJ Child Abuse Clearance

b. PA or NJ Criminal Clearance

c. PA or NJ Federal Criminal History Record

d. PA or NJ Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release– to be completed for each employer where the candidate worked with children

7. Completed Mandated Reporter Training

8. Completed Arrest and Conviction Report(If working in Pennsylvania) (Act 82)

9. Completed Tuberculosis (TB) screening

10. Possession of a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation

11. Must be at least 21 years old

Knowledge of:

• Current and best practice intervention strategies

• Ethics, laws, and regulations of acceptable interventions

• Developmental processes of children, adolescents, and adults

• Intellectual, behavioral disabilities, and mental health diagnoses

• Current and best practice in supervision of staff

Skills and Abilities:

• Navigate web based electronic systems and access health records

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Office

• Stand, sit on the floor, bend, and squat for extended period of times

• Run for short distances

• Lift up to 50 lbs.

• Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner

• Objectively analyze crisis situations

• Respond quickly to emergency situations in a calm and composed manner

• Communicate effectively in both oral and written form and make recommendations to

various agency staff and outside professionals, groups, or individuals

• Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team

• Demonstrate the ability to receive feedback in a professional manner and apply feedback to novel situations

• Demonstrate exemplary writing skills (e.g., ability to write in a clear and concise manner with minimal spelling and grammar errors)

• Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines

• Demonstrate attention to detail
